Kristen Allen – Maternity Support Practitioner

Kristen Allen - Maternity Support Practitioner

Hi, Kristen here! I’m originally from the States, but moved to England to marry my husband. I live with my husband and our 4 children in Norwich.

I went to university to study creative writing and am a published poet! I left a career in Internet Marketing to focus on my growing family for 10 years. During this time, I became a breastfeeding peer supporter at the NNUH. I volunteered on the postnatal ward, the NICU and in the RLF (tongue tie) clinic.

Once my family was complete, I turned my attention back to finding a new career. I wanted to find something that fulfilled me as a person and allowed me to give something back. I began work as a maternity care assistant in January 2018 and a year later I was invited to become part of the Infant Feeding Team. My absolute passion for supporting women to achieve their feeding goals grows every day!

Over the years, I have supported many families as they’ve started the journey into parenthood! I feel so honoured to share the first moments of a baby’s life with the parents! The awe as parents meet their little one for the first time. The laughs at the first dirty nappy! The tears when it’s all too overwhelming and amazing at the same time. I truly relish it all!
