Jenny Clark | Breastfeeding Peer Supporter
Hi my name is Jenny. I qualified as a midwife in 2014 and I am very passionate about my job caring for women and their families. I trained in London working at a very busy maternity hospital giving many women breastfeeding support where the unit achieved level 3 UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative training (full accreditation). This gave me knowledge in how to help women establish feeding their baby but also ways to cope with the challenges that come along with breastfeeding. I have experience in breastfeeding antenatal classes as well as running breastfeeding cafes and one to one support.
Two years ago I moved back to my home county of Norfolk and have been a community midwife for the James Paget University Hospital since.
My own breastfeeding journey started in 2018 and has really shown me how important it is for women to have the right support. We breastfed through a time on Neonatal unit, undiagnosed tongue tie at 8 weeks, and mastitis. Without the right support this would have been more difficult!
I have had full UNICEF training, 7 years in maternity (3 years training, 4 years qualified) and experience with both the loveliness and challenges of breastfeeding my little girl. I really hope to help other mums and support them to feed their babies. I am excited about offering support alongside Sian and her team of other peer supporters and look forward to meeting you at on of her breastfeeding cafes!
